Fog rock hike day

[Early Bear hiking down Mt. Madison. Ahead of him are Gritty and Wispee, morning of Aug. 23. Very treacherous trail, but cool thing to do.]

  2. I'm sooo jealous! You've inspired me to do a little hiking, but it's nothing compared to what you are doing. Lilly and I only hike 4-5 miles at a time. Like mom said -Tell all the people with strange names I said Hi and be safe.

  4. Hi Jerm,

Mom and I watched that Chef program on Bravo last night and saw the owner of "Volt", who is a contestant on the show with his brother who is a Chef in Los Angeles. They both won parts of the competition in last night's episode. Not nornally something we would watch. A VERY fast talking, fast moving show. Sort of like Hells Kitchen without all the swearing :-)

So now I see where the name Volt comes from .....Voltaggio (a true Irish name!) I told Mom I think I remember him and talking to us from behind the bar that night the three of us were there while awaiting our table. Hope all is well.

PS - Per Post above - no way you will be there for your birthday.....too late in September (22nd) Why - because you have very important news assignments awaiting your return to The Gazette. In fact, while you were gone, ALL news has stopped for those small towns you cover. Be good. Bob

  5. Haha, yes, time stood still in old Frederick I'm sure.
As for my completion date, you may be accurate enough. I haven't crunched the numbers yet. Will do so and blog it very soon. But 9.9.09 is likely out of reach for me.

  6. btw, the trail in the photo is where that man-sized pile of rocks is. Those are called 'cairns'; they show the trail in the mountains which tend to be foggy or snowy.
